Burj Dubai and Downtown Dubai
The area around the Burj Dubai extends to 800,000 square meter and comprises of the Burj (Tower) and Downtown Dubai (including the Dubai Mall which will be the world’s biggest shopping mall, the Boulevard, the Residences, the Parks, the old town and the Dubai Lake Hotel.
The building of the Burj (Tower) started in 2004 and is projected to be completed by 2008. Speculations about the undisclosed height of the building range from 700 to 800 meter. Costs of the tower are estimated 1.8 billion USD while the whole Dubai Downtown area will cost about 20 billion USD.

Dubailand - entertainment, leisure & toursim
Dubailand will comprise of 280 square kilometer with a mix of day and night activities appealing to tourists across genders, age groups, origin and activity preference. Most of the attractions will be open for visitors in 2008.
Six different themes will be offered to visitors: Downtown, Eco-Tourism World, Attractions & Experience World, Sports & Outdoor World, Themed Leisure & Vacation World.
Big projects within Dubailand:

Dubai Sports City(5 mill. sqm; stadiums, golf courses,
residential ares, etc.)
- City of Arabia(2 mill. sqm; 34 tower blocks, dinosaur park,
shopping centres, etc.)
- Mall of Arabia(will become the world's largest shopping mall with 1 mill. sqm and 1000+ outlets)

| The World |
300 artificial islands to represent the world
"The World" is the biggest handmade island project in the world. It will consist of 300 artificial islands whereas each will be sold between 10-40 million USD. The size of the project will be 54 square kilometer with approx. 100 meter distance from island to island.
Up to 150,000 people are projected to live on "The World" including about 20,000 boats.
To apply for an island a proposal needs to be directed to His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid al Maktoum who will then decide who will have the honour to buy the desired island.

| Palm Islands |
Consitst of a group of three palms in Dubai
"The Palm, Jebel Ali", "The Palm, Jumeirah" and "The Palm, Deira" are being constructed by the state owned developing and construction company Al Nakheel in Dubai. The Palm Jumeirah is projected to be completed in early 2007. The available villas will be build according to different themes such as Carribean, Mediterranian, European, Arabic, Greek, Spanish and others.

Biggest construction project worldwide
The vision behind Dubai Waterfront is to create a world-class destination for residents, visitors and businesses in the world’s fastest growing city. After completion Dubai Waterfront would be the longest man-made shore on earth. The project includes channels, islands, luxory hotels and villas with about 400,000 to 750,000 residents on an area of 440 square kilometer (which is half the size of Berlin).
The vision also includes a 900 meter tower "Al Burj" which would be the highest skyscraper on earth.
